M.W. Bro. Nelson S. Tung was born on Dec. 23rd, 1920 in the city of Shaohsing, Province of Chekiang.
He spent his childhood days in the beautiful Hanchow. Owing to the Japanese invasion he moved gradually to Szechwan. He entered the National Defense Medical Center in the year 1940 to study medical science and military medical service at Kweichow and has been graduated six years later. He then worked in various military hospitals as an internist. He came to Taiwan in the year 1949 owing to the Chinese communist’s rebellion.
He was promoted to the head of the medical department in an Army General Hospital at Kaohsiung where he remained in this post for about seventeen years. He was then appointed as the commanding officer of that hospital in 1970 and latterly was promoted to the Surgeon General of the Medical Service of the Army Headquarter in 1974. He worked there for six years and was then retired in the year 1981.
He is a specialist in the field of cardio-vascular disease. He has gone to Washington D.C. U.S.A. for further study in Walter Reed Army Medical Center during the year 1954-1955. He has been in the service for more than thirty-five years and has been decorated many orders and medals for distinguished merit of service, such as order of cloud and banner, order of royalty and diligence etc. He resumed his medical practice after retirement in Kaohsiung.
M.W. Bro. Nelson S. Tung was initiated in Pearl River Lodge No.3 on May 28th, 1964 at Tainan, passed on Oct. 29th, 1964 and raised on Dec.17th, 1964. From there on he went through various chairs as Junior and Senior Steward, Junior and Senior Deacon, Junior Warden, Senior Warden and has served as Worshipful Master of Pearl River Lodge No.3 four times 1971-1972, 1981-1982, 1984-1985, 1985-1986 respectively.
He was elected as Junior Grand Warden in 1981, Senior Grand Warden in 1982, Deputy Grand Master in 1983, 1984, and 1985. He was elected to the chair in the Grand East of this jurisdiction in 1986. During these years he was also very active in other Masonic organizations. Such as Scottish Rite, York Rite and Mystic Shrine, holding such position as Commander of Council of Kadosh, President of Ali Shan Oasis Shriner Club.
He joined Afifi Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. in 1969 and was honorary life member of the Ben Ali Temple in 1982, honorary member of the Nile Temple in 1983.
M.W. Bro. Nelson S. Tung was married to Miss Rosemary Jehng in 1956. They have two boys and two girls.

董年生尊兄於1920年12月23日出生於浙江省紹興市。
他的童年在風景優美的杭州度過,由於日軍入侵,他逐漸遷居四川。1940年,他進入國防醫學中心學習醫學,並在貴州軍醫服務,六年後畢業,曾在多家軍醫院擔任內科醫生。1949年,因國共戰亂,遷居台灣。
1953年他被提升為高雄陸軍總醫院醫療部主任,並在此職位上任職約十七年。1970年,他被任命為該醫院的院長,並於1974年晉升為陸軍總部醫療服務處軍醫總監。他在那裡工作了六年,並於1981年以少將軍銜退休。
董年生尊兄是心血管疾病領域的專家。1954年至1955年,他前往美國華盛頓特區沃爾特·里德陸軍醫學中心深造。他服役超過35年,並因其傑出的服務功績而榮獲多項勳章和獎章,如雲麾勳章、忠勤勳章等。退休後,他在高雄行醫濟世。
董年生尊兄於1964年5月28日在台南恆廬第三分會入會,1964年10月29日轉化,1964年12月17日提升為工師美生。此後,他曾擔任副司事和司事、副司客和司客、副會監和會監,並曾四次擔任恆廬第三分會會長(1971-1972年、1981-1982年、1984-1985年、1985-1986年)。
1981年,他被選為副總會監,1982年被選為總會監,1983年、1984年和1985年被選為副總會長,1986年他被選為總會長。在這些年裡,他也在其他美生組織中非常活躍。他曾服務於慈修會、慈德會和慈壇社等團體,曾任台北慈修會東方宗教法庭第一分會會長、慈壇社阿里山綠洲俱樂部主席等職務。
他於1969年加入慈壇社阿菲菲組A.A.O.N.M.S.,並於1982年成為本·阿里組的榮譽終身會員,於1983年成為尼羅河組的榮譽會員。
董年生尊兄於1956年與羅斯瑪麗·珍女士結婚,育有兩子兩女。
